Perhaps not now or in 2016 but surely by 2030 when Singapore's population hits 8.5 million, the composition of Singapore Parliament will be similar to that of China's NPC and CPPCC.

China's 'two meetings' dominated by foreign citizens and residents
More than half the attendees at China's pivotal "two meetings" of the National People's Congress and Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference possess foreign passports or residency rights in other countries, reports the Hong Kong-based Oriental Daily.
The annual meetings, currently underway in Beijing, are two of China's most important annual events. The NPC is the country's rubber stamp legislature, while the CPPCC is China's largest political advisory body.
It is therefore ironic that 76% of the delegates at the CPPCC do not hold Chinese citizenship, while 57% of the members of the NPC have residency rights in foreign countries, according to the Oriental Daily.
The loyalties of these attendees to China were soon questioned by Chinese internet users. Actors and actresses like Zhao Benshan and Yang Lan have been accused of holding foreign passports, while former athletes such as NBA star Yao Ming and table tennis player Deng Yaping were criticized for holding residency rights in a foreign country or giving birth overseas.
Accordingly, the NPC and CPPCC have been mocked by netizens as the "Club of Foreigners' Parents" or simply, the "United Nations". While foreigners can love China, it is inappropriate for them to play a part in the formation of national policies, the Oriental Daily said.
While the Chinese government has tried to clarify that all members of those two bodies are Chinese, information leaked on internet has shown that renowned actress Gong Li is currently a citizen of Singapore, while Zhang Lan, the chairwoman of upscale dining chain South Beauty Restaurant Group had canceled her household registration in China.
