Business of sex goes to school

JOHOR BARU: A parent in Skudai had a shock when he found “sex product brochures” among his son’s books. “I picked up my son from school and saw that he had with him several sheets of paper. I was stunned to see the brochures were on sex drugs,” said businessman Ng Ching Sea, 58.

When the boy was questioned, Ng was stunned to learn that the products in the brochures were being sold by the school’s disciplinary teacher. The teacher, it was later found, was selling sex enhancement products that included drugs, gels and pills on the side. Apparently, other teachers and many students know about his business.

Ng said the teacher’s activity was unhealthy as the brochures contained information on sex that was inappropriate for students. “Selling such items, especially in the school, can influence the students to be involved in social ills, given their exposure to such sexual content,” he said, adding that the brochures also provided the website address of the company dealing in the products.

Ng has lodged a report at the Skudai police station and also filed complaints with the Johor Education Department and the school’s administrators. State Education director Sufaat Tumin said the department was investigating the matter.

“We expect the investigation report to be completed within a month,” he said, adding that the department was taking the matter seriously. Johor Baru (North) police chief Asst Comm Ruslan Hassan said police were also investigating. He urged anyone with information to contact the police hotline at 07-2212999 or the nearest police station.

Teacher to face action if he sold sex drugs to students

JOHOR BARU: Disciplinary action will be taken against a teacher here if it is proven that he had sold sex drugs to students, the Education Ministry said. “We will not tolerate such behaviour,” Deputy Minister Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong told newsmen after launching a Jalur Gemilang distribution ceremony here yesterday.

Dr Wee was commenting about the incident in Skudai, where a parent discovered that a disciplinary teacher at his son’s school had been selling sex enhancement drugs. He said the Johor Education Department had been instructed to investigate the matter.

“The allegation must be verified. It’s too soon to make a conclusion but I hope the investigation will shed more light on the matter,” he added. Businessman Ng Ching Sea, 58, was surprised to discover brochures on sex enhancement drugs among his son’s books on Saturday.

The father was shocked when told that the products in the brochures were being sold by the school’s disciplinary teacher. The teacher was said to have been selling sex enhancement products that included drugs, gels and pills.

Sex brochure teacher gets stern warning from ministry

JOHOR BARU: A disciplinary teacher at a secondary school in Skudai who had been distributing brochures on sex enhancement drugs in his school has been given a stern warning. Deputy Education Minister Dr Puad Zarkashi said investigations by the Johor Education department revealed the teacher had been distributing brochures to students, detailing traditional sex drugs and pills on sale.

However, he has not been selling the drugs to students.
Dr Puad said the brochures were printed by the teacher from his Facebook page. “We have given him a stern warning,” he said yesterday. “We believe he has been distributing the brochures only recently but had been in business for longer than that.”

He said it was also believed that the teacher might have been targeting the students’ parents as prospective buyers. Dr Puad said that the teacher’s action in distributing the brochures to students was morally wrong, especially with the increase in underage sex and baby dumping in the country.

He added that the ministry would not hesitate to take more drastic action if the teacher repeated the offence. Dr Puad said the teacher had set a very bad example to the students. It was reported that businessman Ng Ching Sea, 58, was surprised to discover brochures on sex enhancement drugs among his son’s books two weeks ago.
