In the past, we had lousy rickety buses with poor seats and jammed windows

But the drivers were skilful and caring

Now we have solid state of the art buses with superior hydraulics and best facilities

But the drivers are fark type

Every time they stopped all the standing passengers fly

The old folks lose balance and hurt themselves

Why can't they estimate stopping distance and brake gently instead of sending everyone flying at each traffic light, each bus stop

Give me the old days anytime

Nowadays life is damn fark type, take a bus also so stressful

You are over-generalising. You have not seen equally lousy drivers in the past? There were good and bad drivers then as we have now. The problem of jerkiness and excessive rocking is due to the hydraulic brakes they have now. Bus drivers in the past were known to skip bus stops or drop and pick up passengers away from the bus stop and drive off if the queue was too long. These days, they are better managed.

Bus driver should know how to handling brake. Not jam brake immediately. Slowly slow down and brake.

They are just plain inconsiderate drivers. For all my driving life, I have hardly jam brake unnecessarily. If they drive like that while taking their driving tests, they will definitely have immediate failure.

I guess more Singaporeans should make complains to SBS for such drivers with bad driving habit and attitude.
