I refer to the report "Bus Operators score well in lastest review(The New Paper, 6th April)
It is surprising that the Public Transport Council(PTC) found bus service satisfactory.
I fail to see how that can be, given the long waiting times and overcrowding that I have experienced.
On more than one occasion within the last six months, I have waited an hour for an off-peak SBS Transit express service 502 to arrive, only to find it too crowded to pick up more passengers.
Yes, road conditions can vary, but such a delay still seems unreasonable.
The PTC should consider better measurement tools for its next review, if it is to maintain public confidence.

But the bus commuter doesn't know what P.T.C. stands for? Pass The Costs....of course they will find everything satisfactory...they rarely travel on buses etc...and their standard press reply , if ever to the letter writer, will be; it is an isolated case & we have accessed the complaints & made recommendation to the transport provider to make improvement..which even me can draft this reply... ha ha ha

But, we commuters are isolated in our sufferings having to bear with the inadequacies of the system....for these people rarely take public transport..and their jobs are to make a 'show' of they are doing something, and find ways to pASS tHE cOSTS.. (ptc)..:p

And I bet they all drive cars. So, if they don't even take public transport, what rights do they hve to discuss and make judgment about the quality of public transport in Singapore?

Apart of that at bendemeer, i have to wait 20mins for the bus 107. Wasted total time 25mins.

What bus satisfactory are the referring to. Is it their salary that they are satisfy.

Never trust the report PTC is providing, it is just another propogenda from the PAP Goverment.

People at the top never understand how normal people like us feel everyday rushing to work ... Thats why Emperor in the old times need to disguise himself to mix with the commoners to experience real hardship and difficulties faced by peasants.

talking about bus service again... really pissed me off.
I took 969 from yishun to tampines last Sunday, bus is fucking hot... air con not working.. so many people frustrated and fanning themselves. Then got one guy, approached the driver nicely... ask him is the to lower the temperature. But KNN... the drive is a FT, cannot speak english. Then another chinese guy approached the driver, speak chinese to him. But fuck... he just say,,, "cannot control, is automatic"

I was fucking pissed off... but to complain to the service center when reach tampines interchange. But fuck... when reach interchange, cannot find any place to feedback or complain.

What the fuck ?? what can i do ?

I ever called the SMRT customer service line before... as usual,, put through 10 minutes of waiting time, then given a standard answer "thanks for your feedback, we will look into it"

Ironical issn't it? PTC members who do not take bus can judge that bus service is great in Singapore. Only in Singapore you can find such phenomena everywhere - from PTC to TC to every councils owned by PAP who loves to pat their own back and paid themselves handsomely even when they don't deserve it.

Sama sama lah. You think that nerd Lim Hwee Hua has taken much of the public bus services, when she made the proposal to abolish those long distance bus services in the future? This is all done to the benefit of SMRT and who owns the most shares in SMRT? Ask yourself? Who says there's no cronyism in Singapore? How can we vote for such people in the ruling party? It's time to change. At least there is a chance. If the opposition is not up to expectation, the incumbent will get a chance to come back again after 5 years. No big deal.

I think to be fAIR AND sum it all, MOST if not all in the PTC dont take public transport and are not peasants or stay in HDBs.

Most likely than not the DRIVE if not DRIVEN (personal driver) to workplace so to get them decide on public transport issue, is liken to asking the wolf whether to fatten the calf or not?

The right people is not in the PTC. PTC should be seated with people from schools, factories, etc instead of these high income air-conditioned office personnel. Chances are they only get shine on by the sunlight when they go for their lunches. Most would be in their air con comfort sedan or SUV making paper decision.
