<!-- START OF : div id="storytext"--><!-- more than 4 paragraphs -->ON SEPT 24 at about 10.30pm, I was on SBS Transit service 43 (2644 E) travelling towards Sengkang. At Buangkok Road, a man on crutches struggled aboard.
The driver did not offer any assistance to the man, who also had a bag with him. What transpired next was appalling. The moment the man was aboard, the driver started to drive off with no regard for the man, who was finding it difficult to keep his balance.
Seeing this, I held on to the man and called out to the driver to stop and wait for him to sit down first. The driver stopped for all of two seconds, before continuing.
Are SBS drivers not trained to help passengers who need it?
While a lot of effort has gone into educating commuters to be gracious, I hope more can be done to instil graciousness in bus drivers.
