Bus driver inconsiderate and rude

ON TUESDAY at about 7.30 pm, my wife and I took Service 291 East Loop from Tampines Interchange to our home in Block 216 Tampines Street 23.
When we reached the bus stop in front of Block 216, I asked the driver to move nearer the kerb so it would be easier for my wife to alight.
My wife is handicapped and uses a walking stick. We are senior citizens and over 60. The bus captain refused my request and stopped the bus about 1m from the kerb.
I asked him why he did not move nearer the kerb. He shouted that the bus was crowded.
Whether the bus was crowded or not, it does not explain why he could not move nearer the kerb.
SBS Transit should reinforce courtesy among its drivers, especially to the elderly.
