While on his way to work, STOMPer BuzRider was locked in with other passengers on bus 143 when a quarrel between the bus captain and a man claiming to be a senior citizen broke out.
The STOMPer said:
"This happened at about 10am today, (Jul 14), along Pasir Panjang Road, onboard bus 143.
"A man who claimed to be a senior citizen, quarrelled with the bus captain. The guy seemed like he wants to pick a fight the moment he boarded the bus.
"What followed was the communication between the bus captain and SBS' control station. While communicating, he did not let any commuter alight from the bus until a group of people told him that they need to go to work and they are running late.
"He finally opened the front door and commuters got out of the bus. The police arrived shortly after and boarded the bus to talk to the 'senior citizen'.
"The thing I would like to know from SBS Transit is that is it an SOP for bus captains to lock the rest of the passengers in the bus before the authorities arrive?"
