Burglary ring crippled with arrest of six in Kluang
KLUANG: Police have crippled a syndicate, believed to be involved in at least 15 burglary cases, with the arrest of six men. Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Fawzi Arshad said the police launched an operation dubbed Ops Pintu Aidilfitri to catch the suspects who had been active for the past three months. “Following a tip-off, we arrested the men, aged between 33 and 39, in a series of raids here. We also recovered tools used by them,” he told a press conference at the police station here.
Case solved: ACP Fawzi looking at the recovered stolen goods.
ACP Fawzi said the suspects would observe the time victims left their homes before committing the burglaries. Among the stolen goods that had been recovered were jewellery, cash, laptops, a plasma television set, DVD players, a mini refrigerator and a washing machine, he said. ACP Fawzi also said that police had arrested an illegal pawnshop owner for buying the stolen goods. “Investigations revealed that all the suspects have criminal records. Five of them are drug addicts,” he said.
