Brzezinski Advised Obama to Snub Dalai Lama
Tuesday, October 06, 2009
China Confidential has learned that Zbigniew Brzezinski advised U.S. President Barack Obama to snub the Dalai Lama.
Brzezinski's advice was echoed by left-wing Obama administration members who regard the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader as a Cold War relic because he and his movement were for many years the beneficiaries of CIA support.
But Brzezinski has also advised Obama to continue and maybe, even, to escalate support for restive Chinese Muslims as a way of both pressuring China and influencing Islamists across Central Asia and the Middle East.
Brzezinski is obsessed with influencing Islamists. As U.S. President Jimmy Carter's National Security Advisor, Brzezinski orchestrated the Islamist overthrow of Iran's modernizing monarch, the pro-American Shah, in a failed attempt to curry favor with the viciously anti-American Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.
Brzezinski was also the architect of the covert, pro-Islamist U.S. intervention in Afghanistan--ahead of the Soviet invasion of the country--which Carter's successor, President Ronald Reagan, escalated into America's largest-ever secret operation. The intervention succeeded in luring Moscow into a protracted and costly land war in Afghanistan, which clearly contributed to the Soviet crackup.
Unfortunately--for the 3,000 innocent victims of 9/11 and countless other victims of the global jihad--the American-Saudi-Pakistani-supported war also unleashed a monster that threatens all civilized nations.
