A 8-year-old boy, Kevin Ling is fighting for his life in the Sibu general hospital while his two siblings, father and grandmother were killed in one of the most brutal murders inLorong RTM B1, Oya Road, Sibu. He suffered serious head injuries.
The children’s mother who is working in Singapore had been informed by the police and is flying back to Sibu, said Sibu OCPD ACP Shafie Ismail. He added that they are now questioning the step mother who is helping the police.
The dead are Leong Nyuk Lan, 76, David Lung Chei Qi, 10, Amy Ling Zi Jiun, 7 and the children’s father, Ling Tong Hock 36.
Tong Hock’s new wife, a Chinese from the People’s Republic of China, Li Xiao Lan 28 managed to escape the massacre this morning in their house at Lorong 13, RTM Road, off Oya Road.
It was believed that the bodies body of Leong and Tong Hock were found in the kitchen while David and Amy in a room upstair. Kevin was said to be in a room on the ground floor.
The family had stayed in the 8th lot of the 10 row double storey terrace house. When Xiao Lan heard shouting and screaming downstair, she locked her door. Neighbours said she climbed through the window and went to the 10th house pounding on their windows. They let her in and public from the coffee shops nearby came over to the house after hearing the commotion. They then called the police.
Shafie said the killers used sharp and blunt objects and most of the deceased were slashed with multiple wounds. He said they found a knife but there was no blood stain and believed to be from the house. He believed that the suspects brought their own weapons.
He refused to say on the motive or comment on the suspects but said police are launching an investigation. The Dog unit and Forensic are still at the scene combing for evidences.
Shafie said he could only say Tong Hock was a businessman and the deceased’s friends said the deceased was into timber and shipping.
According to the friends, Tong Hock’s parents did not stay with him and believed that his mother had stayed over after a visit.
