Prince Philip was today taken to hospital with a bladder infection. King Edward VII hospital in London
from Windsor Castle as a precautionary measure. The 90-year-old, who celebrates his birthday this
Sunday, is being treated and will remain in hospital for a few days.

The condition is not being linked to yesterday’s Thames River Pageant, during which he stood for
four hours in freezing rain alongside the Queen. A statement released by Buckingham Palace today
said :’He is understandably disappointed at missing tonight’s Jubilee Concert and tomorrow’s
engagements.’ The Queen will carry on as planned with tonight and tomorrow's events.
The Duke, 90, is due to celebrate his 91st birthday on Sunday.
