Parents will self isolate. Kids will go to school. Kids have no symptoms. They pass to kids who did not go overseas during school holidays. Infected kids bring back covid19 to infect parents who did not go overseas.

You are assuming that we will never find a medical cure. Or a vaccine.

Won't it be a complete joke if a country decided to do what you propose. Have the whole country infected. People dying. Survival of the fittest.

A month later we find the cure/vaccine. Countries who hunkered down get vaccinated. They go back to work.

Meanwhile those countries that got totally infected have to still treat the people sick, deal with the aftermath of the dead.

The Boris Johnson way is fucking stupid.

If you deliberately allow the healthcare system to be overwhelmed, a lot of young and fit people with treatable injuries or infections may end up either dying or get their health comprised due to delayed care. Then you imagine it's only the OLD folks we are sacrificing? You might be leaving the young with a lot of unnecessary health problems down the road or even unnecessary deaths.

What about the doctors and nurses? YOu gonna work them likes horses until they drop dead one by one? No one will sign up for medical profession in your country again. How are you going to rebuild the country?

Flatten the curve and don't panic and stay the course. this is not rocket science.
