SINGAPORE : The opposition Socialist Front will not be contesting in the upcoming General Election.
The party's Secretary General, 37-year-old lawyer Chia Ti Lik, said there are too many multi-cornered fights this time round and the party does not want to split the opposition vote.
He added that the party also does not endorse the Non-Constituency Member of Parliament (NCMP) scheme.
He said the party feels the scheme will be used as an excuse by the ruling party to convince the electorate that there is no pressing need to vote in opposition candidates.
