SINGAPORE :
A 24-year-old male cyclist who attempted to bribe
two traffic police officers Wednesday found out the
hard way that police integrity could not be bought.
Sergeant Nazir Jaffar and Sergeant Mohammed Fadzly
spotted a cyclist riding on the footway at Geylang Road
before the junction of Sims Way and directed him to stop.
However, he refused to do so and tried to escape.
The officers chased the cyclist on foot
and managed to stop him at Geylang Lorong 4.
When they told the cyclist that he would be booked
for cycling along the footway of a public road, the man
offered two $10-dollar notes to the officers in return
for letting him off.
The officers rejected offer and arrested the cyclist
for trying to bribe them.

The case has since been referred to the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB).

$20.00? This guy should be sent to IMH for observation.

This guy must be a PRC.

I once saw a driver trying to stuff his ATM card to the traffic police's pocket in China.

Agree, Some mental problem the fine will be only $20 why does he waht to bride the police.
This become more serious case. Sure will be laughing stock. I laugh when I read the news. :D

Most likely no work permit. Nobody sane runs away from police for bicycling offence. Insane won't run away or try to bribe. Desperadoes do.

Read how the 154th boasts of the police integrity "found out the
hard way that police integrity could not be bought."

Instead of the fact that it's only 10 dollars each for each officer which obviously is chicken feet.

$20!!! He is insulting the police force by offering only $20 bribe. The police are definitely worth more then that. No wonder he is begging to be arrested.
