Boy dies after 26-storey plunge off Kiara Condo
KUALA LUMPUR: A 17-year-old boy fell to his death from the roof of a 26-storey condominium in Jalan Kiara 3, Bukit Kiara here. The teenager was believed to have been suffering from depression. In the 1.30pm incident yesterday, Toshiyuki Seito who was of Japanese-Filipino parentage, died due to serious head injuries as a result of the fall.
Police believe that the boy, a student at an international school here, had fallen from the roof after they found his schoolbag there. The boy is believed to have gone to the roof immediately after returning home from school. The boy was an only child and lived with his family on the 17th floor.
Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Wan Abdul Bari Wan Abdul Khalid said the case had been classified as sudden death. He said initial police investigations revealed that the boy was suffering from depression and stress. The body was sent to the Universiti Malaya Medical Center for post-mortem. His parents declined to comment.
