Both Korea and Japan Qualified for Last 16. Both Believe in Their Own People!

You stupid fool.

1. He has Japanese ancestry. It is very likely he speaks Japanese fluently and is culturally very similar to the Japanese in Japan. Are you implying that Sinkies are very culturally similar to Chinese in PRC or Indians in India? These two countries are big countries and they have undergone changes vastly different to the experiences of Sinkieland. Even their people can easily differentiate their fellow citizens who are not from their own region. If our FTs have Sinkie parents, then they will probably fit in well with other Sinkies. Note that the parents must themselves be born and grew up in Sinkieland and not be one of those instant citizens.

2. One FT is not even 5% of the team, including reserves. All our sporting elites are FTs. We want to win medals, not buy them.

U bloody idiot. His dad was Brazilian Japanese that means he is Brazilian. That means his family was there for more then 1 generation. Most of SG Chinese are 2nd or 3rd Gen Singaporeans. Does that also mean that U and I are Ah Tiongs? I certainly don't think so
We also have Chinese Ancestry and most of us speak fluent Chinese and our culture is very similar to China, does that makes us Ah Tiongs? I certainly do not consider myself one:oIo::oIo::oIo:

I think you do not understand genetics at all. Genetically, we all originate from Africa. So, are africans "pedigree" then? If Jap and KR are not good genes, then in your "wiseness", which is the pedigree? Germans? After all they believe in the ultimate race.

While everyone can be traced back to the cradle of mankind.. the African continent, the law of natural selection has played a major part in altering the genetic make up of the various gene pools that are found around the world today.

If it wasn't for this selection process, we'd all look alike wouldn't we. :p Instead, we have features and skin tones that are diverse as they come. Along with differences in appearance come variations in IQ and physical abilities.

You fucking Char lAtan! Brazilian means must be there for more than 1 generation ah? Go and ask our Sinkie table-tennis champions whether they have been Sinkies for at least half of their lives?

You just supported my point. Sinkies are becoming quite different culturally from PRCs/Indians because these places are huge countries with huge populations. For Japan, it is different because they have always been very close-knit and it is highly likely that overseas Japanese retained most of their Japanese culture. Not forgetting that the Japanese chap was born and spent his early years in Japan as well. :oIo:

I repeat, we want to win medals, not buy them.

U bloody fackard. U can save yourself from looking like a bloody moron by simply reading my post to begin with

Tanaka moved to Japan at the age of 15 to complete his high school studies and he obtained full Japanese citizenship in the autumn of 2003

The guy is 29, he basically spent less then half his live in Japan and only became "Japanese" in 2003.

The Japanese, like the Chinese have migrated to many other countries for generations. Many have found new lives in South/north America and in fact some have become famous politicians in these countries. And being Japanese, they obviously share many of the same culture and many know how to speak Japanese. It's no different from SG Chinese celebrating CNY, Duan WU, Mid Autumn fest and speaking Chinese. That does not make us anywhere close to being PRC then the Ah Tiongs from China.

And Japan may not be as huge as China but different parts of Japan also have their own history culture and Dialect. For excample, if you go to the Kansai region(Kyoto/Osaka) They said Okini to each other instead of Arigato. If you want to comment about Japanese culture, at the very least know something about it

His father is Japanese by race and Brazilian by nationality. Note the surname Tanaka 田中。There're many ethnic Japanese families in South America, just like North America and Hawaii. One Fujimori 藤森 was even once President of Peru. He retired (or escaped) to Japan after some corruption charges against him, Chen Shui-bian style.

Japan have something like an Israel-style law of return. As long as one can trace and prove ethnic Japanese lineage, one's eligible for citizenship. It has nothing to do with promoting sports or football.

That's my point, he was born in another country, his family had migrated to another country.

Most of our fathers are Chinese by race and Singaporean by nationality, does that make us Ah Tiongs? No!!! The guy, Tulio is NOT Japanese by birth, he is BRAZILIAN and then migrated to JAPAN. He only turned Japanese in 2003.

U and I are NOT AH TIONGs despite speaking the same language and culture, if 1 fine day we decide to go to work in China, we are FTs in China.

BTW FYI China also have policies to attract Foreign Chinese back to China

He's not considered "migrated" to Japan. He's considered "returned" to Japan. Anyway, my point is, Japan don't buy foreign talents like Singapore do. He's just one who had a choice between Brazil and Japan, and he chose Japan. There're many other such cases. Nothing to do with football, sports or foreign talents. He just happened to be one who's good at football.

I call that talking cock. If one fine day U migrate to China, do you consider yourself migrating back to China or "returning" to China. China have a similar policy for returning Chinese back to the motherland. The argument for this is weak and ridiculous. The guy is foreign born to a family who lives in that country and lived half his life in the country BEFORE going to Japan. If that isn't considered FT I don't know what is

And BTW I never accuse Japan of buying FTs. I only pointed out 1 simple fact, that they have 1 foreign born player a.k.a FT in their team.

You goddamned piece of shit! Just like Ramseth has said, Japan considers one as Japanese as long as you can prove your Japanese ancestry. Why is this so? This is because the majority of Japanese hold true to the idea of one Japanese race and they will protect their own kind before all others. Today, you will probably be backstabbed by a PRC/India Indian faster than you can open your stinking mouth. You need to get this clear, it is Japan that considers overseas Japanese as one of their own. It is not the overseas Japanese considering the Japan Japanese one of their own and importing them wholesale when their own land size is that of a pee sai.

You have already said we are considered foreigners in China, so why should we consider the FTs Sinkies? Find me one country that uses 50% FTs for its favourite sporting events where the locals are happy for such an arrangement. I am talking about representing the country, don't be an ass and quote me examples from the EPL or NBA where the players represent clubs rather than countries.

We want to win medals, not buy them.

U idiot, there is great freaking difference between supporting FTs and pointing out the fact that there are FTs in a team :oIo::oIo:

FT is a Singaporean term that doesn't exist in Japan. In Japan, there's either Japanese or foreigners. Foreigners, however good, will not be allowed Japanese citizenship and represent Japan. For if that's the case, Japan would have been top table tennis and badminton nation by importing PRC players with their financial muscles. That's not happening.

Japanese, wherever born, however good or bad, will be accepted back as one of them if they choose to return to Japan, their ancestors' land. You can't compare Marcus Tullio Tanaka to PRC/Indian economic nomads.

There're many non-Japanese, born, bred and died in Japan without ever being considered Japanese, particularly Koreans and Chinese.
