KUALA LUMPUR – A Singaporean ringleader of a “swingers” syndicate in Malaysia, which organised group sex events for its 147,000 subscribers or “clients”, was among 36 people nabbed following police raids this week.
It is learnt that the syndicate, which operated online, offered subscribers a chance to swop partners as well as take part in group sex escapades in condominiums around Klang Valley. Each customer was charged RM388 (S$117) to become a subscriber.
The syndicate, led by the Singaporean and a Malaysian, is believed to have been operating since early 2024.

Following surveillance and intelligence-gathering efforts in June, the Royal Malaysia Police’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID), along with other agencies including the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, raided a condominium in Mont Kiara at about 8.30pm on Aug 25.
Deputy Commissioner Fadil Marsus, deputy director of the CID, said 34 people – 18 men and 16 women – were detained in the first raid.
“Those detained included university students, civil servants, a French citizen, a Chinese national, a Nigerian, as well as individuals from the Czech Republic and the Philippines. The youngest person nabbed was a 19-year-old woman,” he said, adding that the woman was hired by the syndicate as a swingers event co-host, as she had previously frequented their other events.

He said further investigation led the police to a condominium in Puchong where the Singaporean and Malaysian ringleaders were found. Various items were seized, including sex paraphernalia, mobile phones, computers and cash.

marketing and promotions.
Speaking at a press conference at the CID headquarters on Aug 30, Mr Fadil said the two ringleaders were the account holders who collected the subscription fees from customers, and were also the administrators of the online platform promoting the syndicate’s services.
Besides paying the RM388 subscriber’s fee, each client would be charged RM400 if they attended any sex-related event organised by the syndicate, and it would cost another RM350 if they came with a partner, he said.
To be accepted as a subscriber, the client would have to go through an interview process conducted by the syndicate, he added.
“The syndicate would conduct a video interview with potential subscribers before they were accepted. For group sex events, the organisers would inform their clients a day prior to the event,” he said, adding that the syndicate would organise a meet-and-greet session prior to any swingers gathering.
“The group sex would (then) be conducted in three rooms, with boundaries and rules set by the organisers.”
These swingers events would take place in different condominiums to evade the authorities and keep away from public attention, he said, adding that some of the attendees had participated in at least five swingers events.
Besides organising these events, the syndicate would also upload pornographic videos and photos on its website.
“We will investigate the case further. We believe there are other online platforms that run similar services. We will track them down and nab them,” Mr Fadil said.
He said the police need the cooperation of the public to put a stop to such vice activities. “We will conduct further operations based on our own intelligence gathering and information from the public.” THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK
