SINGAPORE: The police have classified the case of a body found on Thursday evening under the Central Expressway (CTE) flyover as murder.

The body, believed to be that of an Indian man, was found near the junction of Kampong Java Road and Cavenagh Road.

The police said the body was not decomposed and they were informed of the incident at 5.56pm.

CID officers and forensic officers were at the scene till late Thursday night.

Investigation is ongoing.

Kampong Java flyover murder suspect nabbed

SINGAPORE: Police have arrested a 20-year-old male Indian national in connection with the murder of his 31-year-old countryman.

The arrest comes four days after the deceased's body was discovered under the flyover at the junction of Kampong Java Road and Cavenagh Road on Feb 9, 2012.

Police investigations eventually helped ascertain the identity of the suspect and he was apprehended on Sunday in the vicinity of Serangoon Road.

The suspect will be charged on Tuesday with murder.

If convicted, the 20 year old faces the death penalty.

The decomposed body of construction worker Raju Arivazhagan was found under a Central Expressway flyover last Thursday.
Police on Sunday arrested a 20-year-old Indian national, in connection with the murder of a construction worker.

The body of Mr Raju Arivazhagan, 31, was found by the police on Feb 9 under a Central Expressway flyover near the junction of Kampong Java Road and Cavenagh Road.

Mr Arivazhagan, who is also from India, was apparently last seen at a Thaipusam celebration on Feb 7.

His body was discovered two days later by a pedestrian.
