Dear All,
The ruling BN has sought an audience with the ruler of Perak to seek the appointment of a BN chosen Chief Minister.
As of now, the state assembly seats are PR 28, BN 28 and 3 independents.
The independents were formerly PKR members who have effectively defected and have claimed to be agreeable with the BN.
The ruler in excercising his royal prerogative may dissolve the assembly and call for new elections. The ruler has however asked for a show of support from all members that the BN claims it has in its fold and to seek an audience before he decides to accept the appointment of a new CM.
Meanwhile, the PR has filed for a motion in court, this is to reverse the Elections Dept's refusal to accept the dissolution of the assembly prior to the news of the defection.
Allegations that the 3 defectors were in fact people under probe for corruption, and in exchange of their cases to be dropped were asked to defect.
This is all that is available for now.
Cheers,
MentisMortis
