HE HUNG around a community library to look for targets - young boys going to the toilet alone - and soon found his prey in a six-year-old boy.
Chan Kok Weng, 29, approached the boy on the pretext of helping him urinate but ended up sexually abusing the child.
However, the boy's mother, who was waiting outside, soon found out what had happened inside the men's toilet and sought help from library staff to nab the predator.
On Thursday, a deliveryman, pleaded guilty in the High Court to one charge of performing oral sex on the boy on April 27 last year.
The case has been adjourned till Friday for the court to hear psychiatric evidence. His lawyer, Mrs Christine Sekhon, assigned under the Criminal Legal Aid Scheme, is also expected to make a mitigation plea.
Chan is the second man to be convicted under a sexual assault provision that was included in the Penal Code last February.
His case comes more than two months after a 26-year-old water cooler repairman who performed oral sex on a seven-year-old boy in a school toilet, was sentenced to 10 years' jail and 12 strokes of the cane.
Chan faces a jail term of between eight and 20 years and at least 12 strokes of the cane.
