A man who lied that he did not have sex with anyone in the last year before donating blood was jailed for eight months on Wednesday.
The 57-year-old had pleaded guilty to one count of giving false information before donating blood at the Centre for Transfusion Medicine (Blood Bank) in Outram Road on July 20, 2008.
He cannot be named as there is a gag order.
He had declared 'no' to a question if he had either given money or gifts to a prostitute or to anyone to have sex with him; had sex with more than one partner.
