Boys’ Brigade Sharity Gift Box project falls short of target by about 60%
SINGAPORE: The Boys’ Brigade Sharity Gift Box began its delivery of presents on Saturday to more than 18,000 beneficiaries.
Delivery was done in style this year with a convoy of 28 Rav4 cars led by four Harley Davidson motorbikes.
Fifteen youths from Beyond Social Services, a charity organisation, also joined in the delivery of food hampers to needy families.
The youths are hamper recipients themselves and wanted to pay it forward in spreading the Christmas cheer.
But this year, there may not be enough food to deliver.
At this time last year, 60 per cent of what was needed was already collected from the public.
This time round, only half that amount has been collected and the project is just six days away from closing.
Churches like the New Creation Church are responding to this call.
