This year's Taipei International Invention Show and Technomart will be the biggest ever, with 700 companies from 26 countries participating, the organizers said Thursday.
The show, to be held Sept. 20-23, will highlight the theme of intelligent life, said the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA).
Visitors to the eighth annual exhibition will be treated to a display of about 2,000 inventions at a record 1,079 booths, featuring information and communication technology (ICT), biotechnology, ICT cloud technology, textiles, machinery, and environmental protection, TAITRA said.
Some of the new technology on display will include an Android phone that can be used as a remote control and winter clothes made from electrically conductive fiber.
A new consultancy service to encourage inventors to develop world class technology will also be offered by a group of government experts as part of a policy to help promote commercialization of patents.
Stimulating internationalization and commercialization of intellectual property and innovative technology is one of the main goals of the show, according to its website.
The exhibition also aims to provide a platform for international intellectual property trade and technology transfer, the site says.
The show will be held under the auspices of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, National Science Council and Council of Agriculture.
