While the intensity of the clashes between the Ukrainian Army and the Russian Army increased on the 371st day of the Ukraine-Russia War, Finland started to take steps to ensure its own security. Finland started to build a 200 km long wall on the Russian border in order to increase border security. The Finnish Border Guard announced that the wall will be 3 metres high and will have barbed wires on it. The length of Finland's border with Russia is 1,340 km. At present, the border has light wooden fences. Finland decided to build the wall because of the increasing number of soldiers fleeing the Russian army in Ukraine. Finland is currently mobilising for NATO membership. The Finnish Parliament is discussing a bill that will accelerate NATO membership. It was announced that the vote will be on Wednesday. The construction of the new wall will start in a short time. Some parts of the wall will have night vision cameras, lights and speakers.
