ZOE Tay could blame it on high-definition video technology. The three years that separate her from Fann Wong are all too apparent, maybe even magnified, in The Ultimatum, where the actresses played characters who are 34 years old.
Tay is 41 and Wong is 38.
Viewers observed that Tay, a mother of two, is not convincing as Wong's peer in the show, MediaCorp Channel 8's first to be shot in high definition.
Mr Colin Lim, 25, content manager of a job portal, says: 'Zoe looks glamorous, but the casting was a little wrong. Zoe and Fann should not have been chosen to play characters of the same age because Zoe looks a few years older than Fann.'
Financial consultant Celeste Goh, 28, agrees: 'Since the show was shot in high definition, Zoe's wrinkles were quite obvious, making her look older next to Fann, who doesn't seem to age. Zoe could have played Fann's older sister in the show.'
