Be wary of sex products

MALACCA: Men and women who take sex stimulants to rev up their bedroom lives are warned that some of these products are not safe and liable to cause ill health effects.
The Malacca Consumers Protection Association (MCPA) said it has received complaints from disillusioned customers about the various sex products on the market, which are largely from China and a few produced locally.
“Many had complained about side effects after taking them,” MCPA chairman Datuk Seri Dr Saharuddin Awang Yahya told a press conference at the association’s office in Taman Tasek Utama in Ayer Keroh here yesterday.
“We have received several complaints over the sale of sex stimulants.
“After checking with the Health Ministry’s pharmaceutical department, it was found some of them were banned and unapproved products,” he said.
“We hope the public would be more wary of what they buy.
“They should buy approved products rather then risk their health,” he added.
Saharuddin also warned consumers to be wary of supplementary health and beauty products that are laced with steroids, bleaching agents and antihistamines.
“We found some unapproved products were brought in from Indonesia, re-packaged and sold at marked-up prices here,” he added.
He urged the public to lodge complaints with the MCPA if they suspect they had been duped into buying unapproved health and beauty products.
