Hi anyone knows if a crack in the long bath tub can be repaired? I checked that to replace the bath tub would be around $1,200 (include hacking, retiling, etc).
which I think is too costly.

The crack is near the sink area (the part where water drains down the pipe).

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

If the gap is not big, may use gap filler

If not done properly, bathwater may leak out into the cement flooring and into micro-cracks of walls linked to the flooring. The paint will start flaking off your interior bedroom walls, either yrs or yr neighbours'.

Instead of filler, better to use water-resistant silicone RTV.

I had a couple of tiles in the bathroom that leaked water, i used water plug, its a kind of powdery polymer mixed cement that hardens very fast on contact with air and water. Some called it water cement or something to that effect. It works very well and amazing in sealing water leaks. You might want to wait 2-3 days without using the bathtub for the water that has seaped into the gap to dry out and buy this to seal it up. There is also another type which is putty form and it works well too.

If the bath tub is made of porcelain, I believe ceramic epoxy should be good enough.

After much consideration, as there is a risk that if not done properly might cause leak and other bigger problem latter, I don't mind engaging a specialist to do it for me. Any recommendation?

TS, I think you had a same problem as me. This is due to rust around the rim, so part of th lip sink in due to crack. Go to a diy shop and buy Selley"s knead it underwater, which cost about over $5.00. Is a clay type, you cut the required portion and knead it for at least 2 minutes, after which you apply all around the edge and evenly, sand it and fix back again. You must buy seal, probably worn out . So do it yourself.
For the repair, you mentioned to replace and retile costing $1200, I would say it is very cheap.

I think you have accurately described the problem I am facing but I think mine is more serious. Managed to get a plumber from a hardware shop to fix the problem. He replaced the piping below the tub and also cut out a piece of the tub and replace it with a custom-made metal piece. Looks a bit unique for a tub to have a piece of metal at the sink area. But to me as long as it does not leak its fine Charging me about $300. Have to monitor to ensure that leak does not occur.
