ALOR SETAR: A 42-year-old Australian base jumper fell to her death after her parachute failed to open during a training session at the Alor Setar Tower here. Tantikey Lie Marion’s parachute failed to open when she leapt from the 165m-high tower, which is the second tallest in the country, at about 4.15pm Tuesday. She died on the spot when she landed on the concrete ground, less than two metres from a zinc wall put up by the tower management for maintenance work. The tower has been closed for maintenance work since August.
