</TR><!-- headline one : end --><!-- show image if available --></TBODY></TABLE>

<!-- START OF : div id="storytext"--><!-- more than 4 paragraphs -->I REFER to last Saturday's letter by Ms Germaine Ong, 'Errant maids: No recourse for employers who become victims'.
The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) can consider having a section on its website where employers can post comments on their maids at the end of the contract or on repatriation. To ensure that only employers can post comments, the employer's number or maid's work permit number can be used to log in.
However, the public should be allowed to search and view the comments on the maids. To prevent employers from posting too many comments on a single maid, they should be allowed to post only one comment on each maid they employ. By doing so, employers who have responsible maids can provide good references for the maid while those who have employed errant ones can warn other potential employers about their behaviour. With this platform, all parties benefit:
- Potential employers can make an informed choices;
- Maids will be motivated to perform better so as to get a good reference; and
- Maid agencies will be motivated to provide accurate and reliable information, thereby raising their own standard.
