〔國際新聞中心／綜合報導〕早知道，把錢給他就是了！這是在西雅圖金鑰銀行（Key Bank）工作超過兩年的出納員尼柯森的感嘆，他因為英勇制伏銀行搶匪，讓自己丟掉工作。

「西雅圖時報」報導，上個月二十八日，一名穿黑衣戴太陽眼鏡的男子，進入銀行後把背包推過櫃台，要求行員放錢。三十歲的尼柯森沒有多想，把背包丟到地上，衝向該名男子，要他亮出武器。

不料男子拔腿就跑，尼柯森沿路緊追，之後在路人協助下制伏歹徒，交給趕來的警方。尼柯森說，他當時只是想，如果放過他，他會搶更多銀行。

這起事件發生在週二，週四尼柯森就被開除。金鑰銀行發言人不願評論本案，至於西雅圖警方和聯邦調查局皆不鼓勵這種英勇作為。警方表示，銀行行員的訓練是要讓搶匪儘快離開，避免危險情勢升高，因為錢已獲聯邦保險。

It's not doing the right thing. Personal heroics in calling a bluff or daring a robber in such a situation endangered the lives of more staff and customers at scene. What if the robber really got heavy firepower or backup? It's a reckless and irresponsible move. Deserved to be sacked. In such a situation, any properly trained staff or right thinking human being should protect human lives instead of money.
