Fire at Senoko Power Station

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted to a fire incident at the Senoko Power Station at 31 Senoko Road at about 10am today. 2 fire bikes, 3 fire engines, 1 Light Fire Attack Vehicle (Red Rhino), and 3 support appliances were deployed to mitigate the incident.

SCDF resources arrived at the incident site within 5 minutes of activation. The fire involved an air filter room (approximately 20m by 20m) at a Combined Cycle Plant at the Senoko Power Station. With 4 water monitors and 2 jets, SCDF worked with the Senoko In-house Power Station firefighting team to bring the fire under control within 20 minutes.

There were no casualties in the incident.

The cause of fire is currently under investigation.

In this photo provided by Casey Casserino, the Kleen Energy plant on River Road in Middletown, Conn., is seen Sunday Feb. 7, 2010. An explosion blew apart the power plant under construction as workers purged natural gas lines, killing multiple people and injuring at least 14 in a blast that shook homes miles away, officials said.
