A MAN who undertook to look after a four-year-old girl, whose mother had moved into a shelter, was yesterday jailed for 10 months for abusing the child.
Sivakumar Naranisamy, 27 and jobless, pleaded guilty to slapping the girl and making her lie down in a pool of her own urine, as punishment for relieving herself in the living room of his home.
The girl, who cannot be named, had at the time been staying with him and his wife in Jalan Bukit Merah for a month.
