Asian Youth Games (AYG) organisers told the media on Tuesday night that it was going to be a sell-out crowd at the diving and bowling events yesterday. While that was true for bowling, JOYCE LIM discovers that that has not been the case at the diving event over the past two days

KNN, like the diving also call sell-out crowds? complimentary tickets... waste time to go to see diving,,,, better throw in free lunch, dinner or booze probably will be a sell-out crowds,,,,,

i hope the YOG & the F1 will enjoy the "sell-out" crowds,,,,, but the government has its ways one, all MNCs and big companies will have to do national service and forced to buy tickets one,,,, like the president charity shows etc etc, many corporate donors last minute,,,, no choice to fill up the quota,,,

Confusion over proper attire mars AYG event

CONFUSION over proper attire overshadowed the Asian Youth Games (AYG) Fiba 33 basketball competition for the second day running when a player donning a hijab (headscarf) was told she could not play.

Kuwait had again to compete in the 3-on-3 event without captain and top player Rabab Abdullah.

The point guard had to watch from the sidelines as her team lost 0-33 to Japan on Wednesday at Anglican High School.

the organiser should consider paying us to attend the events. This way,we go sincerely and faithfully:biggrin:

During my National SERVICE slavery days...I have to pay & attend quite a number of 'sellout' performanaces...and donate from my pay to some charities, who reported record donations for the particular year.

I was a MEMBER of Singapore Armed Forces...MEMBER...members have their privileges!!:p

Games like bowling, shooting, archery, golf etc. are not real sports; they're simply games. Real sports require sweating it out and keeping body fit.

Shooting and archery can become real sports if they're done on horseback and timed. Golf can become a real sport too if played without caddies and time over distance counts in the score as much as strokes.

No need to run and sweat, take all the time in the world to standstill and take aim, what sport is that? It's just a game of eye-and-hand co-ordination. In real sports, players are known as athletes. Are golfers, bowlers etc. athletes? They're only players, not athletes.

Anyway, the organisers, sponsors and participants should know this well too. That's why these events are called games, not necessarily sports, e.g. Olympic Games, Asian Games.
