Uncertainty in Austria escalates: In an interview, the IS expert Moussa Al-Hassan Diaw warns against the increasing radicalisation of increasing young people. In each school class there would be up to three people who at least sympathize with the IS ideology. In the eXX-press interview, ex-defence Minister Scheibner warns: “The risk of terrorism in Austria has been said small for decades”.

They are frightening conditions that come to light in Austria. For years, the government has been neglecting the problems that arise in connection with the uncontrolled immigration policy, which is the breeding ground for radical Islamists: almost no day now goes by in Austria without stabbing, rape, robberies and further violent crimes. The Islamist terrorist attack plans for the Taylor Swift concerts clearly show that security policy in our country has gaps.

Radicalisation increasingly among younger ones

The recently prevented terrorist attack raises the question of the driving forces and ideological motives behind such violence. Islamism expert Moussa Al-Hassan Diaw speaks in the oe24.TV interview shocking facts: There are two to three IS ideology sympathizers per school class: “In workshops we have already looked after 550 people with radicalisation suspicion. In each school class there are up to three people who sympathize with at least these ideas. Even indigenous Austrians, even 13-year-old boys and girls," says Diaw, who was increasingly taking place among younger people – even not criminal.
According to the Islamism researcher, many of these young guys have sworn loyalty to the IS. “They want to look strong, frightening. Then they are indoctrinated with enemy images”. When asked who will be the enemy of these young men, Diav, explains “the West, the Americans, the Jews. The IS radicalisation does not hold anything of democracy and man-made laws. They want a theocracy. For the fanatics, the killing is justified”.

Ex Defence Minister warns of security situation in the country

In eXXpress interview, Herbert Scheibner, President of the European Institute for Combating Terrorism and former Minister of Defence, talks about the current threat of terrorism in Austria and Europe. Scheibner makes it clear that the Islamist threat of terror is by no means new. The experts have been warning in Europe against this: “Especially in Austria, they always try to push it a little.” At the latest since the terrorist attack in Vienna in 2020 “should one know that there is a real threat”, said the ex-Defense Minister.

Scheibner warns, “extremeists can strike anywhere”. One could not exclude such attacks and radicalisations 100 percent, but one has “talked about the problem in recent years – also in Austria”. 10-20 percent of Muslims in Austria are also “receptive to radical ideas”. Especially those who have portrayed a “multicultural society as a great utopia” in recent decades have done very little for living together can really function.
