Asustek Zenfone 2 launches in Latin America

Taipei, Aug. 21 (CNA)Taiwan's Asustek Computer Inc. (華碩) has launched its second-generation ZenFone series in Brazil, taking aim at Latin America's smartphone market.
The ZenFone 2 was launched during a Thursday press event at the iconic Ibirapuera Auditorium in São Paulo, Brazil. Asus also launched its ZenFone 2 Laser, ZenFone Selfie, ZenFone 2 Deluxe, and revealed a brand new ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition.
The press event, labeled "Incredible Comes to Latin America," was hosted by Asus CEO Jerry Shen (沈振來), while Brazil's first astronaut, Marcos Pontes, promoted the ZenFone 2 range.
The upcoming ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition, a brand-new addition to the company's successful ZenFone range, is a 5.5-inch model featuring a 64-bit Intel Atom processor, 4GB of RAM, and an whopping 256GB of internal storage.
The company expects to ship a million smartphone to Brazil in 2015 and is planning for three million shipments next year.
