<!-- START OF : div id="storytext"--><!-- more than 4 paragraphs -->ON SUNDAY, I happened to take the MRT in the morning as well as at night. I was surprised that the trains were packed, just like on weekdays during peak hours. Frequency is reduced, so a crowd soon gathers on the platform and travel is just as hectic.
When I travel to work, I stand most times, but console myself that at least I reach my destination quickly. The weekend crowd is made up of mostly people like me who do not have cars, and foreign workers who have only Sundays off to take a break.
Please be humane. Let people sit. Do not remove seats to pack in people like cattle. Weekend travel should be more leisurely.
Do not take away that incentive for people to commute during non-peak hours. Now, weekends are like weekdays. Chua Lee Huang (Ms)
