=> So? LUAN means LUAN! Overcrowded means overcrowded! Overpaid means overpaid! Corrupt means corrupt! *PTUI*

SMRT says nine staff were at the platform to direct passengers to the southbound platform when train services disrupted. Announcements were also made to inform passengers to move to the opposite platform to continue their southbound journey.

In a post dated Aug 20, STOMPer Stefanie wrote in saying that Yishun MRT Station was engulfed in chaos as passengers were informed of an unexplained train delay. What made it worse was that there was only one station staff in charge of directing human traffic.

In an email to STOMP today (Aug 25), an SMRT spokesperson says:

“We refer to the post ‘Yishun MRT in chaos but only one station staff to guide commuters’ on STOMP, Aug 20.

“On Aug 20, train services were disrupted at Ang Mo Kio MRT Station due to a track intrusion incident. To maintain northbound train service from Yishun MRT Station, a southbound train was turned around at Yishun MRT Station. Passengers on this train were detrained at the northbound platform at Yishun MRT Station, and they were directed to the southbound platform to board the next train heading south to the city.

“We wish to clarify that during the detrainment, five station staff and four officers from the Police MRT Unit were at the platform to direct passengers to the southbound platform. Announcements were made twice in the station, and once inside the train, to inform passengers to disembark from the train and move to the opposite platform to continue their southbound journey. At the southbound platform, our staff continued to facilitate passenger traffic until the next available train arrived.

“We hope this clarifies the arrangements that were made at Yishun MRT Station to facilitate passenger movement.”

STOMPer HL spotted this man with a smart way to beat the long waiting time for the MRT -- by sitting on a foldable chair.

Said the STOMPer:

"I was waiting at Woodlands MRT on the today (August 25), at about 10.15am.

"I spotted this man who brought a foldable chair to the platform while waiting for 5 minutes for the train to arrive.

"He had a very smart way to beat the long waiting time!"

Long waiting time??? I thought Sinkieland had a WORLD CLASS transport system. What gives?

You read too much into the "world class transportation" wording, what is world class, is not transporting you, from point A to point B, but transporting your money from your bank accounts , your currency notes to the transport providers bank account.

This 'transport system', is not only world class, but OUT OF THIS WORLD.
