</TR><!-- headline one : end --><!-- show image if available --></TBODY></TABLE>
<!-- START OF : div id="storytext"--><!-- more than 4 paragraphs -->I TOOK the SBS Transit service 175 from Clementi on Wednesday at 11pm and the bus seemed to be a new model.
What took me by surprise was not the new seats or interior layout but an advertising showcase with a complete computer set in it near the exit. The display unit occupied the space of four seats or what could have been standing room for five passengers.
It made me wonder to what extend an important public service provider would go for such money-making gimmicks at the expense of direct benefits to commuters.
Would the Land Transport Authority or Public Transport Council care to comment?
