PRIME Minister Lee Hsien Loong meant every word he said when he apologised for not meeting people's expectations, said Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean at a Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC Rally held by the PAP on Thursday night.
'He sets very high expectations for himself too. And if he cannot fully meet your expectations as Singaporeans, I think he was really disappointed and sorry when he said so,' said Mr Teo, speaking at the rally in Pasir Ris Park Carpark C.
'Every moment, every minute that he's awake, I know that he carries the burden of Singapore and Singaporeans very heavily on his shoulders. He works very, very hard.'
Mr Teo leads the six-man PAP team in the GRC, which is being contested by the Singapore Democratic Alliance.
