I am surprised that given the poor sentiments on the ground in this coming election, the PAP is "retiring" many known faces. Sure, they may not be well liked by many but the devil you know is still better than the devil you don't (new faces).
Is PM Lee purging the dissension of the 2nd generation old guards? Is there a cleaning up in the party?
Observe the signs.
Goh is talking rubbish and undermining his own party with his sarcastic remarks on Tin. Boon Heng gave the impression he will be send elsewhere to shore up support in weak constituency but then again, his remarks that there will be surprises on Nomination day is still very open...? Then, all of a sudden, he's leaving the party and cabinet.
Jayakumar, Tarmugi, Yu-Foo, Koo, Peng Kee, etc., all all leaving. These all "heavy and middle weights" in the party compared to Wee, Geok Choo and others who are leaving.
The only staunch diehards still shouting are Kan Seng, Eng Hen, Bow Tan, George.
Note also Old man is away in Taiwan and HK on a private visit? Is this a coincidence that the purging is going on while he's away.
Is nepotism in the works again? If one accuse PM of purging dissenters and paving the way for his son under the instruction of his father, the old man can always turn around and says he's not in charge and look, he was away when all these was happening.
Sounds typical? Old man always claimed he's no longer in charge but will tell you Balaji failed miserably.
Listening to the recent Francis Seow interview reminds me that a leopard can't change his spot. Old man says he will rise up from his grave if he knew something was wrong with Spore.
In this election, he will be defending in Tanjong Pagar and he's still not in the grave. You think he will stand by and watch the party giving in to the voters demands?
Re-read his book : Hard Truth" and his "I stand corrected" statement and then his recent interview with Charlie Rose. Has the man even stood up to be corrected?
Where is Michael Palmer? Isn't he going to clarify whether old man is going back on his apology?
The 3rd Lee generation is being prepared in this coming election.
Be afraid. Be very afraid.
