Are today's SYT Chiobu Beauty Queens more work orientated driven than before?

I ask this question after reading about the combined undergrad beauty queen Jazreel Tan from SIM who beat off an SMU undergrad an another SIM undergrad. She is 22 years old working as a secretary while studying full time at SIM for a degree in finance and is apparently going to be starting as a trader soon, also aspires to do a master's in afew years time and eventually go into investment banking if possible.

Before most beauty queens were happy to be air hostesses, models and thereafter tai tais. So what is your take?

Sorry can't provide a photo saw her in TNP but can't locate the link, found her to be quite cute sweet and bubbly.

Sign of the times, or you could say it's natural progression with our social system in play. Gender divide, probably not helping with expectations of male class on life mate. You know the old debate on men hesitant to marry up. Oh, oh, probably get some flak with liberated chabors here:p

I think she meant being a private banker, which isn't much different from the traditional route of becoming air hostesses, models and thereafter tai tai.

But if you did notice the trend over the last 5 years, the majority of newly promoted middle-senior management staff in MNCs in Singapore have been women in their late 30s and early 40s. Might be attributed to the frictional drag effects of reservist on a guy's career path.

Yes quite true. IBM, Microsoft, Citi, Stan Chart, Fed Express etc.

they just have to use the natural skills they use to run the household and transpose it to their department, and easily become the head of department, and from there it's just a few steps up...no special skills needed, just nagging your staff and keeping the house ship-shape.
