OIC, then why do countries like Ireland, USA etc all issue travel advisories to citizens travelling over to SA about thieves and robbers following visitors to their hotels and robbing them and also did you know the columbia team had money stolen from their hotel rooms.

I mean SA is very notorious for these sort of crimes and i also read stats from somewhere that every min or every 4 mins some woman is raped over there and someone is murdered over there.

Nope, i think its safer to walk in the savannah at night with hungry lions than to walk the streets of Pretoria at night even with street lights :D

I read that lions in general don't really hurt humans or attempt to eat them since humans are not the lions natural prey. Only old or sick lions or renegade lions that have tasted human flesh actively seek out humans for consumption.

On the other hand, robbers constantly look for their next victim.

as in all places....keep to the lighted areas, avoid going out to questionable suburbs at night and dun flash your valuables and act gua-lan...

where ever you are...don't make yourself prominent shld help you avoid many troubles...

same case even for Singapore...

Seems like teo kok eng is either a big fan of SA or knows the place really well.

I once had a link to a blog where they showed how SA was decaying after the blacks took over and how the trash was not cleared. The buildings were all crumbling, everything looked so old etc.

South Africa is like Johor Bahru.

There are different areas, black, white and coloreds. Singaporeans should of course visit the white and colored areas.

The rule of thumb for SA is to move quickly from point A to Point B. Its an interesting phenomenon - the space between anarchy and peace. When you are in shopping mall, it looks no different or feels no different to one in a 1st world world country. The moment you leave the mall, the car doors locked, the vigilence increases significantly. Just visit their houses and you will see electric fences in the middle of a nice upper class suburbs.

The other rule of thumb is never go out alone after 6pm.

It however is a great country, nice landscape and weather. Singaporeans have migrated over.

I rmemeber watching a locally produced doc about an sg family that migrated over there and were running some sort of bakery and pastery business. They employed some local SA blacks and they commented that they weren't too intelligent and that SA ppl loved to eat meat pies.

And always travel around in a group. Life is very cheap in SA so they would stab you in the kidneys over 5 dollars.
