The keyword is 'shortcut'.

I don't use MSN, but whenever I start my Notebook I'll have to wait hell long for the MSN to be launched before I can move on.

Okay, don't tell me the shortcut way is to get a Mac. I already have one.

Go to MSN menu

Tools > Option > Sign In > General

There are few options... untick automatically run msn when logon to windows.

Yah, just deselect auto MSN logon. Simple as that.

wahlaneh...
try to uninstall msn messenger lor.
or simply untick "sign me in automatically".

I foresee a problem.

I don't have a Msn account, and don't intend to register one.

So far the method proposed by some of you presupposes that I have a MSN account, i.e. login and do the rest.

No, I don't want to log in at all because I don't want to register an account. And I don't want to uninstall. I just don't want the Msn thingy to come bother me whenever I boot my computer.

You bought the system that comes with it?...can't you google for the solution?

or try this Start/Run/msconfig/startup tab - unselect msnmsgr

ok....click on windows logo left hand, click run, type msconfig, look into services or bootup, find the MSN boot up, disable that....

Yes, of course I can google. Read my first post. But why do people have to always ask this question ? Googling is just a one of the many ways to find an answer. I prefer to ask in the forum because there is 'dialogue'. When I hit a roadblock, I can still come back and ask.

Indeed, your method is a shortcut compared to a list of different methods I found in google.

Thanks...the irritating MSN has been resolved !
