can learn on your own if you read the right books and practise frequently. a good coach will hasten your learning process if you’re not the self-teaching type. but in sg how many good golf coaches and instructors are there? only 6.9? some cabbies are quite good. i started off practising on my own with a 7-iron, 5-wood and 3-hybrid at the range and trained my swings from there. before going to the range, must measure and cut shafts to fit your physique (height and arm length). can do that at a pro shop with a simulator. enjoy the game!
