You must be working in some godforsaken company to have your lunch stolen. The permanent solution is not a rubbish of a lunch bag which degrades the quality of how your lunch looks but a change of company.

I once hired a temp at my previous company. She bought a carton of 1 litre of fresh milk & stored it in the fridge. Gradaully, over a few days she realized that someone had been pinching her carton of milk even though her name was written on it. She uttered expletives in front of quite a no of people in the staff pantry. Good for her!

This is in the context of USA where workers keep their lunches in office fridge. I don't think anyone at Microsoft will steal lunches. In places like factories, Walmart, K-Mart, lunches can get stolen.

Happen to me a few times in my former company but mostly its mistaken lunch. You see the nearest canteen is around 20mins away and our lunch break is only around 45mins so walk there and back takes up the whole lunch break. The only solution is packet your own lunch. At 1st there were chaos some of my malay coworkers were eating my ham sandwich and I was eating their sardine sandwich. Later we decided to label our plastic bags and put on different shelves in the fridge top shelve muslim food 2nd shelve others. Thou this went on quite smooth there were time our lunch went missing. We suspected it was the FT cleaners that were stealing our lunch or personal grudge between 2 workers and 1 decided to throw away the other guys meal. Later I decided to stop eating lunch at my company altogather because some asshole decided to have durains for lunch and put a plater of durains in the fridge for 3days.

I don't understand. Why couldn't you and your co-workers just leave your sandwich in the ziplock bags on your desks, in your desk drawers or in your bag/briefcase?

this reminds me the time I visited condom factory, at the quiet production line you could occasionally hear a small pop sound so I asked a line manager where that sound came from, this what he told me :
" apart from producing condoms we also manufacture baby rubber teats, imagine with fail proof condoms how can our rubber teat business flourish so randomly we puncture a few holes on the condoms _ that's where the sound came from " :(

Well for 1 its a near dust free enviroment in the fridge. We are all working in a heavy industry enviroment hate to see layer of dust over our zip lock bags when its time for lunch.
