The Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure ride will be closed for at least four months from Aug 10 and is expected to reopen early next year.
SINGAPORE - Universal Studios Singapore (USS) announced today that its Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure ride, will be closed from Wed, Aug 10, onwards and is expected to reopen early next year.
In a notice posted on its website, it said the ride will be "undergoing enhancement works, and will not be available to park guests"
"We anticipate that the attraction will reopen in early 2012".
A note on Resort World Sentosa's (RWS) Facebook page also added the enhancements are to increase its current capacity.
RWS spokesperson, Mr Robin Goh, explained that the river-ride attraction will be enhanced "with an additional lift system that will greatly increase its daily capacity".
"Even more guests can look forward to experiencing Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure each day when it reopens in early 2012," said Mr Goh.
Earlier this year, the park's Battlestar Galactica rollercoaster ride was reopened after being closed for almost a year.
A seat from one of the ride's two roller coasters had become detached during a routine safety check in March 2010.
On Feb 2 this year, the authorities recertified Battlestar Galactica safe for use and Universal Studios Singapore began inviting guests to ride on it as part of "technical" rehearsals the next day.
