<!-- START OF : div id="storytext"--><!-- more than 4 paragraphs -->I REFER to the reply by CapitaLand attesting to the safety of its malls last Friday, 'Safety, security of shoppers come first at malls'.
Five months ago, my mother suffered a fractured hip bone after she fell at the basement staircase of Tampines Mall.
She said two shoppers attended to her and called an ambulance as she had difficulty moving. Even after the arrival of the ambulance, no security personnel appeared at the scene.
While my mother was in hospital, I visited the mall to see the spot where she fell. I approached the information counter and spoke to the facility management officer. I related the incident and said I would like to check whether it had been captured on closed-circuit TV cameras. I was told the mall management would look into the matter.
Five months have passed but I have yet to receive any call from the mall management.
So I am curious to know how my mother's experience figures in the context of the safety and security of shoppers which CapitaLand insists are paramount in its consideration.
