Another PRC Bus Driver Nearly Caused Horrific Accident

A near traffic accident in Orchard near Far East Plaza on Wednesday night almost caused a fight between a Singaporean cabby and a PRC bus captain!

The Comfort Delgro taxi was about to turn left into Orchard Road when a incoming bus almost knocked into it. The furious taxi uncle got off and knocked on the door of the bus challenging a fight:
“KNN CCB!! CCB!!”
The PRC bus captain initially got up from his seat and walked towards the backdoor as if he was going to leave the bus and confront the taxi driver, but he did not do so in the end and drove off.
Based on Singapore’s (not China’s) traffic regulations, the taxi has the right of way as there’s a yellow box in front with the front bus right before the yellow box. The bus should give way to the taxi, not the other round.
According to a passenger in the bus, the bus driver is a man in his 30s and spoke Mandarin with a ‘mainland’ accent.

What was his bus doing in the yellow box when the bus in front of him had not moved off from the front end of the yellow box? It is obvious he disobeyed the traffic rule and nearly collided with the taxi coming out from the slip road.

Comfort taxi-drivers now appear to be emboldened by the accident at Bugis junction.
Taxi-driver is courting danger - for on-coming motorists in Lane 2 and 3 because his view is blocked by the big bus. He should have just waited for a few seconds.

That place is especially dangerous for vehicles coming out of Far East cos vehicles pick up speed from Scotts Road and Steven's Road and those coming out of nearby Goodwood Park.

He should have remembered message from EMAS : "Drive carefully for your loved ones" - AND YOUR PASSENGERS!

Yellow box line not vehicle should stop in the box. TP and LTA should fine those stop in yellow box regardless bus/taxi/car/bike/lorry and also deduct 6 demerit point .
