I REFER to yesterday's letter ('Insurance body criticises Grace Fu's analogy') by Mr Tommy Wee, president of the Insurance and Financial Practitioners Association of Singapore (Ifpas).

I regret if my analogy of comparing some opposition parties to unprofessional insurance agents had caused unhappiness in any way. It was certainly not my intention to stereotype, nor make disparaging remarks against the entire insurance industry in Singapore.

I appreciate the efforts by Ifpas to clarify the matter. I have no doubt that there are many professionals in the industry who disburse good advice and service, with clients who benefit from the help rendered by them.

'Regret' is never the equivalent of 'sorry' in diplomatic terms. It is always seen as something short of a full apology, a cop-out.

Why do you think the Japs like to use 'regret' when referring to WWII atrocities?

They should simply show a video of the "Sorry Sorry" dance by Super Junior whenever "they feel sorry".

Will Lui TY apologise to the mushrooms of Singapore?

That was such a bad analogy I had problem understanding what the heck he is talking botany in election. Can't he use some straight-forward idiom like other ? But then again, even some MIW don't understand about the tiger up e hill .
