Casinos given green light in Taiwan

[Taiwan] After months of intense debate in government, the green light is finally given to embark on the development of a casino industry in the islands of Taiwan. Development of the casino industry will yield increasing revenues to the hotel industry which will boost tourism and employment creation prospects. Of equal importance to the authorities, however, are the revenues to be gained from taxing and regulating the casino industry in Taiwan. For now, the casinos are most likely to be developed on the periphery islands of Taiwan. There is one prerequisite which must be met however: all casinos must be developed as part of holiday resorts.

Very soon,super strategist MM Lee would have to amend his full 100% support for commies of PRC when he finds that PRC in a bit to earn more peanuts,is perfectlly willing to learn and then steal the biz fr him.

It may not be a zero sum game but he should know that Spore actually has very little to offer apart fr being very friendly to Uncle Sam fr the very start,a 40 years head start.

What can PRC offers to him?some poor toursit who would take a very long time to be convvinced that Spore world class priced expenses is a great destination for them,as they already have HK,Macau and now ROC next door,well,the fresh experience of visiting a Chinese type English town,Spore is not,in fact,more people are speaking Chinese on the street of Spore than any time befor,thanks to LKY' "FT come."

Technology,manufacturing experience,financial power,yes may be some corrupted Chinese officials would still love to bring and keep some mistresses here is dist 9.10,11,no doubt,but that no is set to be reduced with global recession.

Actually, you do not need rocket science to deduce the reason as to why so many foreigners are "encouraged" to work and settle here as citizens and PRs.

The paramount reason is the extremely low birth rate and the increase in the number of aged Singaporeans coupled with the increase in the number of singles and divorced here.

These younger foreigners will be replacement and will form a significant backbone to "support" the aged through taxes, etc etc.

As it is, there are only 2.3 million citizens here and are rapidly aging.
